The Weightier Matters of the Law

Why do we need a lesson like this?
Luke 12:41-48 The servant who knew his masters will and doesn’t prepare himself or does his masters will, will be beaten with many blows.

Exodus 19:4-6

The Lord delivers his people Israel who whom he has adopted and called his firstborn and brings them to himself to make a covenant with them to be a kingdom of priest to himself to bring all mankind back to him.
Let us see what he calls Israel.

Acts 7:37-38

Stephen gives a rundown to his fellow Israelites and tells them about the church/congregation that was in the wilderness-The church is Israel, but were they alone?

Exodus 12:37-38, 49

A mixed multitude also went up with Israel and God gives some specific instructions. One law shall be for the non-Israelite and Israelite alike.

Isaiah 56:6-7

The stranger/non-Israelite is acceptable to God if he takes hold of his covenant, the Lord’s house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.
Egypt represents this world, a place of bondage, full of oppressors and gods without number. Let us see what God did when he delivered his people Israel out of Egypt

Exodus 12:1-7, 12-13

God gave specific instructions to Israel concerning when the year starts and to choose an unblemished lamb or goat on the 10th day of the 1st month, put it up until the 14th day of the same month Abib. All the congregation was to kill the animal in the evening and put the blood on the two-side post and top of the door because this night he is going to judge Egypt and all its gods. The blood is a sign of your faith and I will pass over you, doesn’t matter what nationality you are when I see the blood I will pass over you. It is the same today, if you believe God you put yourself under the blood of Jesus Christ who was slain for the sins of the world.
Let us see what the Lord gave to his church beginning with Abraham the father of faith who believed God.

Genesis 17:1, 4-5, 9-14, 26-27

God tells Abram to be perfect before him(obey his laws Psalm 19:7) changes his name to Abraham and twice tells him he will be the father of many nations that is those who would come into like faith. Gives him the covenant of circumcision and states the uncircumcised man, not Israelite, would be cut off. Abraham obeys and all the males in his house including strangers are circumcised.

Exodus 12:43-45, 48

God gives the ordinance of the Passover, only the circumcised can partake of it.

Numbers 15:15-16

One law for all! We know an argument broke out between the apostles in Acts 15 about the circumcision but let Peter tell us something

2 Peter 1:16, 19

Peter says we haven’t followed fables/made up stories, they were eyewitnesses of what Jesus did, but points us to a more sure / solid word of prophecy, had they done this there would have been no argument about the circumcision.

Ezekiel 44:9

Thus, saith the Lord the Lord, no stranger uncircumcised in heart or flesh will enter into my sanctuary that is among the children of Israel.

Isaiah 8:20

To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them-we need both testaments, because the new testament testifies to the old. In other words, the first covenant was with the blood of bulls and goats, the new covenant with the blood of Jesus Christ. We don’t sacrifice animals anymore because Jesus was sacrificed once and for all but the laws remain.
Exodus 20:1-17

God’s covenant is the TEN COMMANDMENTS

Exodus 34:28, Deuteronomy 4:13

Matthew 5:17-19

Jesus confirms the commandments must be taught and kept until heaven and earth disappears which will be when the Fathers’ kingdom comes down as stated in Revelation 21.

The Sabbath Day

Genesis 2:2-3

Before man is created, God puts the Sabbath in place. Did Jesus keep it?

Luke 4:15-16

Jesus custom was to keep the Sabbath Day. Did Paul change it?

Acts 13:14-15, 17, 27

Jesus has gone back to heaven, under the New Covenant, the Sabbath is still being kept, the law and the prophets what we mistakenly call the old testament is still being read and that is all they had-books from Genesis to Malachi-The law and the prophets are read every Sabbath Day.

John 5:39

The scriptures are from Genesis to Malachi
THE TITLE OF THIS LESSON IS TO WHOM MUCH HAS BEEN GIVEN, MUCH WILL BE REQUIRED-WE HAVE THE FULL BOOK AVAILABLE IN EVERY LANGUAGE AND DON’T BOTHER READING IT!

The Dietary Law

Leviticus 11:1-7, 9-12, 13-19

The Lord is concerned with man’s diet and tells him of what can be eaten of beast of the earth, in the waters, of fowl and insects. EVERY CREATURE GOD HAS CREATED IS GOOD, YES, FOR THE PURPOSE THAT IT WAS CREATED.
The Lord’s Feast Days

Leviticus 23:1, 4-5, 6, 16, 24-25, 26-28, 33-36

The Lord lays out his holy feast days and all who serve him must observe them.
Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles and the 8th Day

1 Corinthians 10:1-4, 21

It was Christ Jesus who was with Israel in the wilderness, The Church made up of Israelites and non-Israelites, but Israel must still honor the office as the Priest nation.
The Lord gives true gifts to his church

1 Corinthians 12:1, 4-11, 28

Satan also gives gifts to those who serve him

2 Thessalonians 2:9

There is the bride of Christ, his true Church but there is another who pretends to be of Christ, but she is a whore.

Revelation 17:1-6, 9, 18

This harlot church sitteth upon or presides over many nations, all the leaders of the earth deal with her, she has made people drunk with her doctrines. She is dressed in purple and scarlet, very rich and parades a golden cup in her services. She calls herself the mother church and she have children who are also whores, she sits on seven hills. This is the Roman Catholic Church. Catholic means universal, she is the mother of all who came out of her, that is the reformation movement. If you worship on Sundays, celebrate easter, celebrate Christmas, looking to be raptured to heaven, have your dead relatives in heaven looking down smiling on you, don’t keep the commandments or the laws of God then your origins are out of the Roman Catholic church.

Ezekiel 3:17, Ezekiel 33:7

On both counts, the Lord tells Ezekiel, I have made you a watchman, the watchman watches out for danger and is to warn the people!
He has also given us the holy spirit but that’s the next lesson.
