Why do we need a lesson like this? – As we look at the professing Christian congregations today we see lots of women being ordained as priests and ministers. We also see voting within the church taking place concerning doctrine and we wonder why God left us this great big life manual called the bible. Let us investigate.
We read in those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. 1 Samuel 8 Israel fired God.
Israel is the church, as it was then so it is today, but we are going to examine this as we do everything else in The Israel of God from Genesis to Revelation.
There is no fear of God today in the church so let us be reminded of who we are dealing with.
God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision and states any man who doesn’t get circumcised will be cut off, that is killed as he has broken God’s covenant.
Exodus 4:19-20, 24-26
God was going to kill Moses because he hadn’t circumcised his sons, his wife knowing this had to intervene and saved his life. (Ezekiel 44:9)
Numbers 20:7-12, 23-28 Deuteronomy 34:1-6
Moses, God’s prophet and lawgiver to all the nations led the church for forty years in the wilderness. Israel provoked God many times to the point God was going to kill them and start again with Moses because he only needed one male alive to keep the covenant he made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Moses had to intercede many times for God to spare their lives and in the end Moses patience was tried and he was denied getting into the promised land himself.
Leviticus 9:1-2, 7
Nadab and Abihu perished because they went against God’s order.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. He does not change, it was Jesus in the old testament known as Jehovah
Israel provoked God terribly in the wilderness for forty years and swore they would not enter his rest, that is they who rebelled will not be in the first resurrection.
Hebrews 4:1-2, 6-8
We are told to Fear God, only Caleb and Joshua entered the promised land of all the people who came out of Egypt twenty years and over, they perished in the wilderness. It was Jesus that was with them.
Ananias and his wife Saphira decided to put God to the test and paid with their lives, GREAT FEAR CAME UPON ALL THE CHURCH.
God has a protocol, let’s look at it.
1 Corinthians 11:1-3
Paul instructs the believers to follow him as he follows Christ and to keep the ordinances (authoritative orders) as I delivered them unto you and then states; the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1 Timothy 2:1-4, 7-13
Paul says let the woman learn in silence with all subjection (the action of subjecting a country or person to one’s control, or the fact of being subjected. She is not to teach from the pulpit, nor to usurp (take a position of power or importance illegally or by force) authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed then Eve.
1 Corinthians 15:33-34 (Genesis 3:16)
Genesis 1 is a blueprint, in Genesis 2 God goes to work and created the man first then later does the first tissue transplant and institutes marriage right here. Now let us look at who God appoints as leader and priest over Israel
Exodus 3:1-6, 10-15
The Lord makes himself known to Moses through the angel and tells him he has been chosen for the task of leading his people and declares himself the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Moses doesn’t want the job because he knows his people.
Exodus 4:10, 14-16, 27-29
God won’t take no for an answer and gives Aaron Moses’s brother the job as the spokesman-they are from the tribe of Levi through whom God sets up the Levitical priesthood.
Exodus 29:1-4, 7-9
Aaron and his sons are anointed, and their office is perpetual, everlasting, all males.
Numbers 4:1-3, 43, 47
No one can enter the service under thirty years old and they are all male, let us see what age Jesus entered the ministry
Jesus is thirty years old when he started his ministry.
Jesus is our Great High Priest
Hebrews 9:1-3, 6-7, 11-15 day of atonement
Jesus removed the law of animal sacrifices because he was the perfect sacrifice, blameless, without sin, didn’t break one commandment.
Hebrews 10:1, 4, 9, 18
The law of animal sacrifice was temporary, man died so man had to pay the price. The price is paid we can no longer break the commandments or we will pay the price 1 John 3:4
Let us see whom Jesus appointed when he came and how the appointment came
After abiding in prayer to the Father all night he chose twelve men because this is God’s order.
Let’s look at something God did just once and why he did it.
Deborah was a prophetess and the Lord raised her up to rule not to be a priestess. Why did the Lord do this?
Isaiah 3:1-4, 12
God caused women to rule over his people because the men in their leadership role were so terrible and led the people into error, so he was putting them to shame to teach them a lesson, but nowhere does he appoint female ministers or priest. Let us investigate a case
1 Kings 21:25
Ahab was one of the evilest kings that reigned in Israel who had a wife called Jezebel, she was the mastermind behind all his evil-she was a female minister, how do we know this?
1 Kings 18:1-4, 13-19
Jezebel was a female minister who taught the people to worship Baal, the Canaanite god
Here God speaks to the congregations and states they allow that woman Jezebel which calleth herself a prophetess, to TEACH/MINISTER and seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols. I will cast her into a bed (of suffering) except they repent. Jezebel is now long dead, vs 23 And I will kill her children with death (all who follow her are her children) AND ALL THE CHURCHES SHALL KNOW that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts. (who is guiding/teaching you) and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Jezebel appointed herself to office, to those females who have been ordained and looking to be ordained as priests and ministers a question must be asked-Who appointed you and under whose authority are you working?
