Why a lesson like this? ever since man listened to the fallen angel Satan the Devil whom God told man not to communicate with death entered the creation. The spirit of God (his word) by which man was supposed to live was cast aside. God has revealed his plan to salvage man from under this death sentence in the person of his son Jesus Christ.
Satan cannot make us do anything unless we yield to him but what he does is tempt us through what appeals to all mankind which comes to us as the three deadly Ss, Status, Sex and Silver. By themselves and under control in their proper context as servants all is well but when they become our master especially as a bundle then hell comes right with it.
Let us see what caused this angel known to us now as Satan the Devil to fall.
This Cherub angel is a created spirit being, he was in the garden of Eden but before he was in heaven, he was a sight to behold, covered with precious stones, the original blinger and he radiated light and glowed. He had a title Lucifer (light bearer) the one who was to bring the word of God to man. God declared him to be perfect in his ways until iniquity (wickedness) was found in him. He rebelled with violence and God charged him with sin (breaking his laws) God is holy and his dwelling place is holy and those serving him must be holy so God fired him, took away his title Lucifer and gave him the name Satan (slanderer/opposer/adversary/enemy) the Devil (supreme spirit of evil, harass or worry someone) He didn’t want to go voluntarily so God gave the command to cast him out along with a third of the angels in heaven that he persuaded to follow his rebellion.
This was the violence that occurred in heaven but Satan and the angels who rebelled called evil spirits or devils are created beings and not strong enough, so they were cast out of heaven to the earth this was before God created man upon the earth.
Pride was the fall of this angel, he was filled with I will, I will, I will-Status (Rank, Position, Level, Reputation, Stature) he wasn’t happy with the status he was given by the creator, he wanted the creators throne. Let us see who witnessed his fall from heaven.
Luke 10:1, 17-20
Jesus was there in heaven and saw this battle occur and Satan cast out of heaven. Let us see what happened when Satan was cast out of heaven.
Heaven threw a party rejoicing that the trouble maker had been cast out but what of the earth, woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea because Satan is mad.
God lays out the blueprint then goes to work
Genesis 2:1-3, 7-9, 16-18, 21-25
The only day of the week God set apart was the seventh day also known as the Sabbath/Saturday. This seventh day represents the day Jesus returns and sets up his kingdom and rule for a thousand years upon this earth but that is another lesson.
God told man he can eat of every tree in the garden including the tree of life which is symbolic for Jesus but not to communicate with the tree of knowledge of good and evil which is symbolic for Satan the Devil.
Genesis 3:1-6 hold your spot, let us see what fruit the man and the woman ate if it was an apple.
They listened to the lies of Satan the Devil instead of believing the words of God.
Genesis 3:7-12, 17-21 hold your spot
Satan gave man information they were not ready to receive, a mixture of truth with a deadly lie, but the promise of god like Status got to them. God judges and tells man where he will return to, the dust of the ground not heaven. The Lord reveals his plan of salvation right here when he covered man with animal skins.
Once we break God’s laws, something must die. Also, there is no salvation for spirit beings because they are not flesh and blood and cannot die. The Lord made a temporary covering for man until the savior of all mankind Jesus Christ would come and die for the sins of the world.
Romans 5:12, 17, 19
It was by one-man sin entered the world so by one perfect man’s righteousness in obeying God life is given to the many.
Man is expelled from the garden of Eden and denied access to the tree of life (Jesus) the Lord stations angels around him so man cannot get information to learn to live forever in this polluted state.
Psalm 82:1-2, 5-7
God ask man how long he will keep listening to Satan the Devil. Man doesn’t know he wasn’t supposed to die and that is why the world is in turmoil. Man was created in the image of God to become his kind. Because of sin, we die and fall like Satan and the rebellious angels. Let us investigate status further and even the disciples of Jesus got in on the act.
James and John had to be corrected.
Because of Israel’s rebellion the Lord kept letting us go into captivity, when we cried to him, he raised up judges to bring us back on the straight path. Once the judge was dead, we went back to doing evil. The Lord raised up Gideon also known as Jerubaal who wrought great victories at the hand of the Lord. Israel wanted him to be their king but Gideon knew the Lord is the true king, so he refused, wise man. However, he fell prey to doing what Israelite males do and that is to have babies all over the place with different women. He had seventy sons and another with a concubine by the name of Abimelech.
Abimelech in his desire for status to be king went to his mothers’ house and their bredrin and conspired against his brothers and had them all put to death except one who hid and got away.
God created man and gave them dominion, governance over the earth and the seas. Satan tricked man into forfeiting their rightful position so the savior of man must come as a man to face the same temptation that Adam and Eve faced.
Jesus Christ one of the two in the God Head came man to save man and get him from under the death sentence and the power of Satan.
Satan offered Jesus world status, wealth, power and everything in it. Notice how Jesus obtained the victory, he didn’t tell Satan I’m a new testament Christian and don’t deal with the law. To every temptation Jesus quoted the law. Satan stole everything and turn around using it as a bargaining chip for us to worship him for short term gain and spend eternity in the lake of fire with him. If he tempted the son of God this way, what will he do to you and me. No change just look around the world, people die everyday because of status, sex and silver and they are interchangeable.
On the day of judgement, the Lord will separate people to the right and left of himself. Those on his right will inherit the kingdom but those who didn’t will go into the lake of fire with Satan the devil.
Salt and pepper-let’s talk about sex, according to the Lord.
God sets the precedence, he creates the man and brings forth a woman to be his companion and institutes what marriage is by law.
God set this in place for procreation and family life.
It is supposed to be a pleasurable experience between a man and his wife, male and female as the sexual organs prove. That is why all women at the appointed time have their monthly cycle.
Thou shalt not commit adultery. That is to have sex with anyone outside your marriage.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
We are told to flee fornication, that is being unmarried and going around engaging in sexual activity. Our bodies are temples for the word of God to dwell in as holy vessels.
God tempts no one, we are tempted by our own lust which when we yield to it is sin which leads to death. Romans 6:22
Some solid advice for men.
Brothers we have to control our vessels, we have been warned.
Evil shall befall the adulterer and adulteress alike.
Judges 16:1-2, 4-6, 16-20
The Philistines used a woman to take down Sampson using money, status and sex.
2 Samuel 11:1-2 hold your spot
King David was to be leading Israel out to battle but skived off and left Joab the commander of the army in charge.
1 John 2:15-16
The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of this life.
2 Samuel 11:3-5, 8, 11-15
David committed adultery which resulted in a pregnancy, tried to cover his tracks and when that didn’t work murdered the woman’s husband and took his wife to himself.
When we give in to our lust, it bringeth forth sin:and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
2 Samuel 12:9-12
The Lord waded in on David and tells him what will befall him. David suffered terribly.
Nothing wrong with wealth until it becomes the master
1 Timothy 6:3-12
The love of money, when it becomes the driving force in our lives, we got a problem. (make poverty history)
1 Corinthians 10:12
We dare not trust our own, I get concerned when I talk to brothers and sisters who talk strong as if they have everything right in their life until we find out differently.
Judas Iscariot is a disciple of the Lord and a thief in charge of the money bag. Let us see where his love of money led to.
Matthew 26:14-16, 20-25, 46-50
Judas went to the chief priests who loved money and knew they hated and wanted Jesus dead. They welcomed Judas and made a covenant agreement with them for thirty pieces of silver. The time arrives for the betrayal but Jesus didn’t rail up against Judas but called him friend.
The twilight glamour of self-interest departs, and Judas recognized he had betrayed innocent blood. He took the money back to the chief priest who felt nothing towards a betrayer, so he threw the money down and went and hanged himself.
Psalms 37:16, 23
The steps of the righteous is ordered by the Lord.
Psalm 49:6-10, 16-20
The condition of the rich who die without serving the true and living God.
Psalm 73:1-9, 12-14, 17-19, 24-28
When we look and consider those who are rich and live sumptuously, we can sometimes ask what the purpose is of serving the Lord, keeping all his laws and statutes to the best of our know how while we struggle and life can be bitter. The psalmist declares that he almost got jealous of the wicked who live without any fear of God until he went into the house of God and heard this type of teaching which made him repent and put his trust in the living God who will reward him and us if we hold fast to the end.
