Why do we need a lesson like this? We have people in all sorts of churches laying claim to believing the bible and are Christians but when we look at what is said and practiced and what is written in the bible, we find a grease can, not Christian.
2 Corinthians 13:5-6
A reprobate is an unprincipled person (not acting in accordance with moral principles)
2 Timothy 2:15
We must study, that means we have to read the book, you don’t have no holy ghost who comes and live in you and you just wake up knowing everything.
Firstly, the bible is divided in two, we have been misinformed and call the bible old and new testament. The rightful term should be the first and second covenant.
The first covenant was made upon the law of animal sacrifice and in the second covenant it is Christ who was sacrificed for our sins.
The Lord was not interested in animal sacrifices and burnt offering, obey my voice, all that I command you, the laws.
1 John 3:4
Sin is breaking God’s commandments and it has wages
The wages of sin is death
Jesus Christ the son of God took away the law of animal sacrifice which was a teaching point for us to stop sinning breaking God’s commandments because every time man did an innocent animal had to die and we see here God was not interested in animal sacrifice, he wanted man to stop sinning. So, Jesus came, paid the price once and for all and took animal sacrifice off the table and took over his office as The High Priest. Let us see what happened the moment he died
Mark 15:25-26, 37-38
When Jesus died the veil of the temple was ripped in two from top to bottom where the priest had to sprinkle the blood of the animal sacrificed signifying the end of animal sacrifice.
Jesus tells his mission and tells us not one jot or tittle will pass from the law until all be fulfilled and warns concerning those who breaks his commandments but also declares those who do and teach them will be called great.
Jesus answers a direct question of how to get eternal life, keep the commandments. Let us see what we are further told.
It is written, man shall not live by bread alone but by EVERY WORD that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
John 5:39-40, 43
Jesus Christ is the God of the first and second covenant!
Let us see what the people who would obey God under the first covenant would be called.
The people of the way.
Let us see what this angel is called
Isaiah 63:7, 9-10
This angel is also called the angel of his presence and the holy spirit!
Israel’s king and redeemer speaks and declares there is no other God-that is God that has dealt with mankind
Isaiah 48:12-13, 16
This God who created all things was sent by the other God because there is only two in the God Family and we read in John 5:43 Jesus Christ said I have come in my Father’s name.
Jesus Christ our Father is God who became flesh.
Let us see what the people who obeyed God under the second covenant were called.
Saul was a pharisee and he was breathing out threats and slaughter against the people of the way, so let us see who they are.
John 14:1-4 hold your spot
People read this and say here is proof we are going to heaven
John 13:33 Where I go you cannot come!
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me. Jesus Christ is the God of both covenants. When were the people of the way first called Christians?
Acts 11:19-21, 25-26
The people of the way were first called Christians at Antioch.
He is in the way of life that keepeth instructions (Torah)
1 John 2:3-4
Anyone who declares themselves a Christian and tell you we don’t need to keep the laws of God; such a person is a liar and the truth is not in him/her. Some say I am under grace brother, I agree but we need some understanding
The word of God speaks
Do we make the laws of God void because we have faith or as some say are under grace? God forbid, we establish the law.
Romans 8:1, 13-14 Hold your spot
What is this spirit we are led by which makes us sons of God?
John 6:63, 66-68
It is the spirit that quickeneth the flesh counts for nothing, the words I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life. Where did Jesus Christ get these words?
The Father Jesus gave a commandment to his son Jesus Christ what he should say and what he should speak.
Romans 8:2-9, 13-14
The law of animal sacrifice can’t do nothing for us, it was man that sinned not the animals, so it took a righteous man who had done no sin to take us from under the death sentence, because there was no clean man God himself had to provide a clean man. It is a carnal minded person that says we can’t keep the laws of God they are too hard.
If we willfully break the commandments, laws and statutes after we know the truth, animal sacrifices are done away with and Christ Jesus died once and for all so we will pay for our own sins in the lake of fire.
